With the start of ski season just around the corner, Whistler is gearing up for another busy winter, but you don’t have to wait for the slopes to be covered in snow for the fun to begin. Fall is one of the best times of year to make the four-hour trek north through British Columbia, and Whistler is making that trip even more enticing with its annual Cornucopia presented by BlueShore Financial (November 9-19), an 11-day autumnal festival of food and drink.

From amateur foodies to culinary aficionados, Cornucopia has something for everyone with events like the Crush Grand Tasting, the flagship event; Cellar Door, an intimate tasting featuring high-end wines; House Party: Best of BC, celebrating local food and drink alongside live music; and the hugely popular Cornucopia Night Market, with international street cuisine plus smart pairings in a playful night market setting. Find more information on each event, including how to purchase tickets here.

Washington leads the nation in searches for a path to Ireland

Two years ago, my family took a trip to Ireland. We hiked through lush green hills, rode shaggy horses in open fields, wandered through small towns, and, of course, ended most nights in a pub with a pint of Guinness and live music. Lately, my thinking has taken a turn. Post-election madness, the looming recession,…
