The Best Thing Our Food & Dining Editor Ate This Week

Lemon is a winter fruit. All citrus is. Still, people, including me, associate it with warm weather delights, like lemonade stands and lemony desserts. Enter Theo Chocolate’s newest milk chocolate bar, to stoke the flames of my seasonal inaccuracy – and my love for all things lemon.

The $4 bar, which contains 45 percent milk chocolate, is tart, bright and yummy. It’s billed as a spring treat, something you might stuff in Mom’s gift bag for Mother’s Day or take along on a picnic.I love everything about it, from the floral yellow packaging to the unapologetic sweetness. I’d like to say I unwrapped and enjoyed it on a sunny day while prancing through the farmer’s market in some fabulous flowing Anthropologie dress like this one. But, I actually scarfed it down at my desk before lunch while the rain pummeled our building windows. Then, I looked down and noted that the bar is made with lemon essential oil – not actual lemons, duh. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
