On the shores of Salmon Bay, a new waterfront destination is bringing architecture, automotive culture, and the art of collecting together. Terminal One Motor + Yacht Club introduces a new category of luxury real estate with private condominium garages and future dockominiums.

Forget everything you thought you knew about car collecting and storage. In a city known for innovation, design and its connection to the water, a new luxury destination is taking shape. This one trades traditional real estate for an intriguing new development that combines exotic automobiles, superyachts, private collections and the people who appreciate them. Terminal One’s new concept is a nine-acre waterfront development adjacent to the Ballard Locks that’s reimagining the traditional garage as something more social.

The “Garage Mahal” across the main building.

Affectionately dubbed the “Garage Mahal,” the project combines privately owned collector spaces with an exclusive clubhouse atmosphere, bringing automotive enthusiasts, yacht owners, entrepreneurs and collectors together. Developed by Cantera Group, with architectural contributions from Lance Mueller & Associates and Seattle’s internationally recognized Olson Kundig, Terminal One reflects an evolving approach to luxury ownership. The space will be professionally managed by Seattle-based Columbia Hospitality and will encompass a collector community built around events, automotive rallies, yacht rendezvous, private showcases, and curated experiences.

Its future waterfront phase introduces another provocative ownership concept: dockominiums, offering individually owned yacht moorage. The marina will boast more than 2,300 feet of “dockominiums” with moorage for superyachts up to 300 feet long in freshwater, subject to future approvals.

But the real attraction may be what happens beyond the garage doors.

At its center, The Forum, an owners’ social gathering space, will accommodate everything from intimate events to outdoor car reveals, concerts and celebrations, bringing a new vibrancy to the area. Individual condominium spaces range from approximately 850 to 1,250 square feet, featuring 20-foot ceilings, private entrances and customizable interiors. Imagine vintage Porsches displayed alongside contemporary art, rare motorcycles, fine wines or a private lounge. Units can also be combined for larger collections. Prices begin in the mid-$600,000s, with occupancy anticipated in spring 2027.

On October 21, developers, architects, civic leaders, and collectors will gather for a ceremonial golden-shovel groundbreaking, accompanied by an exhibition of exotic and collectible automobiles. Interested car, boat, and collector enthusiasts are invited to attend the groundbreaking and the Founding Members Afterglow Reception at the neighboring car atelier, Dobson Stuttgart, a popular collector’s clubhouse. With the groundbreaking marking the start of construction, Terminal One will be moving forward, exclusively represented by Realogics Sotheby’s International Realty, as priority reservations continue to advance.

For Seattle’s collector community, Terminal One offers a different perspective on luxury: It’s not simply about what you collect, but the connections, experiences and adventures that come with it. Greater than garages. More than a marina. A collective of collectors.

RSVP for October 21, and learn more at Terminal One Seattle.

When A Magazine Becomes A Place

When A Magazine Becomes A Place

An evening in Pioneer Square offers a reminder of how good it feels to connect—with old friends, new faces, and the city we call home.

A few months later, I’m still smiling! When we began planning Seattle magazine’s July/August Issue Launch party at RailSpur Alley in Pioneer Square, we hoped for a good crowd, some great conversations, and maybe one of those elusive Seattle summer evenings when the weather actually cooperates. What happened was something considerably better. Hundreds of people…
