MUST FEAST
Anchovies & Olives Feast of the Seven Fishes
(12/23) There’s an Italian tradition of eating a big meal full of seafood and fish on Christmas Eve—the idea being that it’s a kind of fast before enjoying meat again on Christmas Day. In the U.S., it’s turned into the Feast of the Seven Fishes, featuring seven different types of sea creatures. Seafood-savvy Italian restaurant Anchovies & Olives is doing theirs Dec. 23 (oysters, Hamachi crudo, grilled octopus, steamed clams, whole branzino, crab with gnocchi and panna cotta). It’s a not-quite-last hurrah for the Ethan Stowell restaurant, which closes New Year’s Eve after a special five-course send-off dinner. 5-11 p.m. $80 ($45 wine pairing option), 1550 15th Ave.; 206.838.8080; ethanstowellrestaurants.com

MUST HAVE BACK
Sir Mix-a-Lot Hip-Hop Holiday Special
(12/22-12/23) Seattle’s very own Anthony Ray (or Sir Mix-a-Lot, as he’s better known) plays a pair of holiday shows at Fremont’s Nectar Lounge. The pioneering Emerald City rapper who gave us “Baby Got Back” brings along special guests including Dime Def and DJ Indica Jones. Blow off some holiday steam while shaking your healthy butt to throwback hip-hop jams. 8 p.m. $22-$30, Nectar Lounge, Fremont, 412 N 36th St.; 206.632.2020; nectarlounge.com

MUST RUN FOR IT
Magnuson Park Holiday Fun Run
(12/23) Dash, dance and prance your way through Magnuson Park for 2017’s final installment the Magnuson Series’ monthly running events. Don holiday sweaters and hats as you run a 5k, 10k or 15k. Whether you run to stay fit, burn off holiday calories or just to enjoy the park, the post-race hot chocolate bar will ensure a merry time. Plus, the fun run benefits nonprofit Earth Runs, securing your place on Santa’s “Nice” list. Prices vary. Kids dash starts at 9:45 a.m., all other races start at 10 a.m. Magnuson Park; 7400 Sand Point Way NE; 206.684.4946; magnusonseries.org

MUST ILLUMINATE
Garden d’Lights
(Through 12/31) Half a million lights transform the garden. 4:30–9 p.m. $5 (kids under 10 free). Bellevue Botanical Garden, 12001 Main St.; 425.452.2750; gardendlights.org

MUST DO DRAG
Dina Martina

(Through 12/31) To her usual drag variety shows—promising “ludicrous song, horrifying stories and overburdened costumes”—this entertaineress’s Christmas wingding adds audience gifts, holiday pathos and award-winning composer Chris Jeffries at the keyboard. Times and prices vary. Re-bar, 1114 Howell St.; 800.838.3006; dinamartina.com

This Summer, Get Hitched at Town Hall

Cake & Punch brings fully planned micro weddings to one of Seattle’s best-known stages.

Almost exactly 16 years ago, over Memorial Day weekend, my husband and I left work in Fremont and boarded a seaplane to Victoria, B.C., to get married. We were both working in tech at the time, and the whole plan was wonderfully small. I wore a colorful Anthropologie dress I’d bought for $150, and my…
