Joss Whedon’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ to Open SIFF 2013

There will be much ado, indeed, at SIFF (Seattle International Film Festival) this year. The festival opens with Joss Whedon’s take on Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, starring Alexis Denisof, Amy Acker, Nathan Fillion, and Clark Gregg. The film was shot in twelve days, uses the original text and apparently was edited on a laptop while Whedon was still in production for The Avengers. It also marks Whedon’s debut as a composer, according to the press release. Whedon is best known as creator of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series.

You may want to buy tickets immediately. Whedon will be in attendance at the SIFF screening, along with the aforementioned cast members. The film screening is at McCaw Hall on May 16 and, as always, is followed by a giant party.
Update (April 9, 2013): SIFF just announced the opening night gala and screening of Much Ado About Nothing is sold out.
