MoPop’s New Haute Couture Exhibit Is Fit for a Queen
The new exhibit features fashion objects, garments and photos

If the fashion world’s purpose is to glorify the feminine, this exhibit (organized by Barrett Barrera Projects out of St. Louis and New York City) digs more deeply into the idea by examining seven powerful female archetypes: sage, magician, enchantress, explorer, Mother Earth, heroine and thespian. Visiting MoPop after its New Orleans debut in spring 2018, A Queen Within: Adorned Archetypes includes photos, video and wearable art of all kinds, from shoes to wigs, gowns to jewelry, collected from the work of Alexander McQueen, David LaChapelle, Vivienne Westwood and a few dozen other designers. 5/11–9/2.
