(6/2-4) Swing through the Greek Orthodox Church of the Assumption on Capitol Hill for a weekend of authentic Greek food and culture. Fill up on lamb meat and chicken souvlaki, or sip Greek coffee while nibbling tiropita (think a buttery pastry stuffed with egg and feta). Glassybaby’s Semiannual Seconds Sale
(6/3) This Saturday, wake up early and head to SoDo to add to your collection of votives and drinkware with Glassybaby’s stock of “perfectly imperfect” products for their semiannual seconds sale. The beloved local company is offering discounts on their unique wares, which come in more than 400 colors. The philanthropic company gives 10 percent of profits to worthy causes, with the cut of June’s sale going toward Mary’s Place, a nonprofit providing homeless women, children and families with important resources. Dueling rosé parties
(6/3) The rosé revolution looks to keep thrumming along this summer, as June kicks off with two parties celebrating pink bubbly. Charles Smith Wines Jet City throws its inaugural Jet City Rosé Experience, featuring rosé from PNW wineries and music from Jack White-endorsed rockabilly queen Wanda Jackson. Simultaneously, the Summer of Rosé event hits the Bottlehouse in Madrona with samplings from around the world. Sadly, both are sold out. But don’t let that stop you from celebrating the return of rosé season with your beach blanket and one of these lovely local bottles.
Must Run for a Cause
Race for the Cure
(6/4) Join the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, a 5K stretch in which participants can walk or run to raise breast cancer awareness at Seattle Center. Along with raising money for education, screening and treatment, the event also celebrates breast cancer survivors and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.
