Raved-About Fried Chicken Joint Coming to Capitol Hill, Will Serve Neumos

Because booze + music + fried chicken wings = your best life.

Attention, Korean fried chicken fans: Popular White Center joint Bok a Bok announced today that they’re opening a Capitol Hill location on December 1. Because never has there ever been a better drunk food than double-fried chicken wings.

But now, for the best part: Bok a Bok’s 17-seat space will be not only neighboring Neumos, but partnering with the concert venue (plus sister spots Barboza and The Runaway). Meaning you can order chef Brian O’Connor’s food—Korean-meets-comfort grub like kimchi mac ‘n’ cheese, fried chicken and house-made biscuits—to enjoy while attending a show. Eardrums and tastebuds get equal love.

Bok a Bok will be replacing the relatively short-lived Paseo location there. As much as folks love that Caribbean pork sandwich, I’m thinking this is a much better fit for both the space and the ‘hood.

Also, I reached out to O’Connor’s business partner Alex Prindle last week last week about an unsubstantiated rumor regarding a Roosevelt location of Bok a Bok. He said “he’s pushing hard to make that happen” but wouldn’t guarantee it. Fingers crossed.

Cake & Punch brings fully planned micro weddings to one of Seattle’s best-known stages.

Almost exactly 16 years ago, over Memorial Day weekend, my husband and I left work in Fremont and boarded a seaplane to Victoria, B.C., to get married. We were both working in tech at the time, and the whole plan was wonderfully small. I wore a colorful Anthropologie dress I’d bought for $150, and my…
