Shake Shack Will Open This Week
Cue the frenzy
By Chelsea Lin September 27, 2018

IT’S FINALLY HAPPENING, YOU GUYS. Excuse the shouty caps, but ever since nationally beloved Shake Shack announced they were opening a location here, Seattle has been waiting breathlessly for the chance at getting those burgers and crinkle cut fries. And now, there’s an opening date: next Saturday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m. tomorrow, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m.
The 3,015-square-foot South Lake Union spot will serve their signature burgers—including the locally inspired and Seattle-exclusive Montlake Double Cut with Beecher’s cheese, caramelized onions and mustard mayo on a Macrina bun—and hot dogs. And while that sounds delicious, we’re particularly excited to try the frozen custard concretes (like an ultra-thick milkshake) made in conjunction with select Seattle purveyors. There’s a vanilla creation with Sea Wolf Bakers’ croissant brittle and coffee caramel (omg), a chocolate one with Theo dark chocolate chunks and truffle cookie dough and another vanilla combined with A La Mode’s seasonal pie.
When the doors open at 2115 Westlake Avenue, Seattle will finally join the ranks of Shake Shack cities—the chain has 180 locations in 26 U.S. states, plus international restaurants in London, Hong Kong, Dubai and more. The first 100 people through the door get a free custom t-shirt. You better believe there’s going to be a long line—for the foreseeable future.
