Author Appearances at Seattle Public Library’s Book Club
It’s time for the next chapter in Seattle’s citywide reading group

Seattle Public Library’s annual citywide book club, Seattle Reads, takes place this month. Each year, the library selects one novel, orders hundreds of copies, and invites individual readers and book groups all over the city to engage with literature and fellow bookworms through discussion groups attended by the author.
This year’s book, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves (G.P. Putnam’s Sons, $16) by Karen Joy Fowler, teases the reader with a mystery: What happened to the narrator’s sister who vanished when the pair were young children? The astonishing answer is slowly revealed and is at the heart of this provocative novel.
Fowler will be in Seattle May 20–22 to join the discussions at six branches around the city, including the main event at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 21 at the downtown Central Library, which will kick off with staged readings from the novel by the Book-It Repertory Theatre.
