To kick off its official move from Ballard to Pioneer Square Drygoods Design (301 Occidental Ave. S) is throwing a grand-opening party, complete with door prizes and bubbly, this Friday (9/5), starting at 6 p.m. (The shindig was pushed by a day so as not to compete with—we’re going to say it—those victorious Seahawks’ revelers on Thursday.)

As well as stocking its new storefront with its usual array of “delightful fabrics and goods” (not to mention a charmingly homespun geography lesson for its first window dressing), Drygoods has a bunch of new classes on offer, such as its mini Lunch Break Lessons (there’s one in November helpfully dedicated to DIY holiday projects), and has launched an Apparel Book Club. Other upcoming classes that pique our interest are the Handmade Pillow Class ($48; 9/17), Beginning Quilting ($95; 10/5, 10/12) and Aprons Class ($48; 11/22).

Drygoods Design’s new Pioneer Square store is stocked with DIY classes, sweet goods (say, an Orla Kiely trowel) and fabulous fabrics (including new selections from Liberty of London)
