Nothing says summertime more than a big bowl of sun-kissed fresh fruit. And it’s easy to bolster this sunny look in your abode (minus that pesky expiration date) by adding a fruit-kissed accent or two.

Just pick up a pair of Pear Salt-and-Pepper Shakers ($19), available in speckled white or golden bronze, new from West Elm (South Lake Union, 2201 Westlake Ave; 206.467.5798; ). Make a perky style statement, and help to keep the bugs at bay, with Nordstrom’s Sunnylife “Pineapple” Citronella Candle ($20; online only). Hang up a new cotton Tumbling Fruit Kitchen Towel ($16), pictured on left, from Anthropologie (Multiple locations, including University Village; 206.985.2101) or drape your table with a lovely linen-and-cotton, hand-stamped Grape Table Runner ($90) from ltalian Country Home and Kitchen (Bellevue, 1811 130th Ave. NE; 425.486.8676).west elm pear shaker setnordstrom's pineapple candleItalian Country Home and Kitchen table runner

Plus, keep an eye out for Rosanna’s new American Orchard collection ($8.50 and up). These colorful fruit (and veggie) porcelain serving pieces—which also would make peachy wall decor—are just one of the new goodies coming from Rosanna’s this fall. (Look for these pieces coming soon on their website, area retailers or at their Outlet Store, open Fridays only, in Georgetown, 6755 E. Marginal Way S; 206.264.7882).

It’s an experience he always hoped his children would have someday, but by the time he became a father in Seattle, land was at a premium: either already developed or prohibitively…
