(3/3) This annual battle of Northwest 21-and-younger bands ran Fridays throughout February, reaching a crescendo with finals on this Saturday, March 3, which will be broadcast live on KEXP-FM. Notable alumni of the competition include rising bands and artists such as Maiah Manser, Tomten, Fauna Shade, The Fame Riot, Otieno Terry and musicians who have played with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. “Countdown to Zero: Defeating Disease” Opening
(3/1) Join the celebration of a new exhibit opening at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation Discovery Center that highlights diseases that are on their way to global eradication. There will be music from Tiffany Wilson and Sohoyini West African Music & Dance, along with food and drinks. The exhibit is presented by the American Museum of Natural History in collaboration with The Carter Center and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Penn Cove Musselfest
(3/3-3/4) It’s the annual celebration of mussels on Whidbey Island. Penn Cove mussels are highly sought after and this weekend you can eat them to your heart’s content.
