If social isolation-induced cabin fever is starting to set in, take a well-deserved break with these virtual Seattle events.

MUST MINGLE
Crucible Brewing Hangout
(Daily) Join Crucible Brewing in Google Hangouts any night of the week for some socially-distant camaraderie, collective drinking and discussions about beer. (Need a refill? Check the brewery’s tap list and make plans for curbside pickup or delivery.) 8 p.m. Free.

MUST BATTLE WITH WORDS
Medicine Ball: Playwrights v. Poets
(4/8-4/11) In this livestreamed literary battle, playwrights and poets pair off, competing to produce prompted one-act plays and poems. In true quarantine fashion, themes include exhausted, isolation and pajamas. A full podcast roundup of the event will also be available 4/12. 7 p.m. Free.

MUST FEAST
Easter Dinner
(4/12) Just because you’re in quarantine doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate Easter with a proper spread. Many Seattle restaurants are offering special to-go meals for the occasion: Look to Ballard’s Gather Kitchen & Bar for individual and family meals, along with bottles of red, white and sparkling wine; or Eden Hill Provisions for Easter brunch, complete with a Bloody Marry kit and dyed hard-boiled eggs. Prices vary. Orders must be placed by 4/10.

MUST CELEBRATE POETRY
Cadence: Video Poetry Festival
(4/15-4/19)
In honor of National Poetry Month, and the cancellation of the in-person Cadence festival, tune in online for a series of video poetry screenings, or stop by the window of Common Area Maintenance downtown to catch a selection of video poems visible and audible from the sidewalk. Times and prices vary.

MUST GATHER ‘ROUND
Story Time
(Weekdays) Seattle Public Library is helping caregivers keep little ones occupied with virtual story time for babies and toddlers. Tune in on Facebook for stories, songs, and interactive family fun. Times vary. Free.

MUST GET YOUR FOLKLIFE FIX
Movin’ Around the World: Virtual!
(4/13-4/17) Norwest Folklife and the Seattle Center have collaborated to move this celebration of music, dance and culture online. Join in for several days of artists showcasing their work through videos, including Spanish Flamenco with Seattle’s Ana Montes and old timey tunes with Charmaine Slaven. Times vary. $5 donation suggested.

MUST GROOVE
Dance Fitness
(Daily) Dance like nobody’s watching—because they won’t be if your turn your camera off. The Seattle Dance Fitness studio is livestreaming a free week of classes through Zoom, including dance fitness for adults and hip-hop energy busters for kids. Times vary. Free.

Kim Fu’s latest novel turns a rain-soaked Pacific Northwest winter into the backdrop for a story about grief and loneliness.

In their latest novel, Seattle-based author Kim Fu gets one thing right about the Pacific Northwest: the rain. Set during a particularly bleak winter, The Valley of Vengeful Ghosts tells the story of Eleanor Fan, an online therapist grappling with the recent loss of her mother, Lele. After Lele’s passing, Eleanor inherits money to put…

Go See Diné Artist Eric-Paul Riege’s Largest Show to Date at the Henry Art Gallery

With a mix of mediums, ojo|-|ólǫ́ examines questions surrounding the authenticity and ownership of Indigenous work.

It’s a phrase that’s been drilled into most of us since we were young children: When you’re visiting a gallery, please, do not touch the art. In many cases, it’s with good reason: the pieces on display are fragile, one-of-a-kind, or historic works that cannot be reproduced. It’s such an ingrained approach to the museum-going…

Things I did, saw, ate, learned, or read in the past week (or so).

Circular Thinking I am very lucky to live just a 12-minute walk away from Seattle Art Museum’s Olympic Sculpture Park. It’s a regular destination for my weekly walks and, aside from the world-class art, has one of the city’s best views of Puget Sound. Earlier this week, I went on a wet, windy walk and discovered…
