Seattle Jewish Film Festival
(3/10–3/18, 4/14–4/15) Among the galas, parties, concerts and screenings that make up this 11-day cinematic exploration of Jewish and Israeli life and culture, Emmy-nominated filmmaker Tiffany Shlain, director of The Tribe and Connected, will be awarded the Reel Difference Award, for what the festival describes as her contributions to the “irreverent and profound intersection of (Jewish) identity, technology, and science.” Times, prices and locations vary. 206.388.0833; seattlejewishfilmfestival.org

Roomful of Teeth
(3/9) This fearless octet, based in Massachusetts, draws on techniques and idioms culled from sources ranging from Inuit throat singing to Broadway in the service of “reimagining the expressive potential of the human voice.” It’s been rewarded with a Grammy and a Pulitzer Prize for the captivating and evocative a cappella piece Partita, written for the group by member Caroline Shaw. 7:30 p.m. Prices vary. Ride the Cyclone
(3/10–5/20) One critic called this 2008 show, which premiered in Victoria, British Columbia, “the most uproarious and outrageous musical Canada has ever produced.” That description itself sounds like the sort of campy joke that would fit right into this tale of high school choir kids trapped in the afterlife after a tragic roller-coaster accident. Its score combines alt-circus oompah music with just enough perky, Wicked-style Broadway pop to make you buy the CD. Times and prices vary. Seattle Kennel Club Dog Show
(3/10–3/11) Seattle’s annual dog show is in full swing this weekend with all the quintessential dog events. Watch your favorite breeds (pugs, anyone?) compete for Best of Breed and in Best in Show. Plus, you can meet your favorite breeds and watch agility demonstrations, such as parkour and flyball. Times and prices vary. (3/11) Women Who Score, an organization shining the spotlight on female musicians, brings a preview concert to Seattle.
