Scandinavian Style: Marimekko-Inspired Looks for Spring Fashion
Inspired by Finnish design house Marimekko’s sprightly designs on display at the Nordic Heritage Museum, bright colors and a playful mix of patterns are propelling spring fashion forward

Our spring fashion feature was shot on location at the Nordic Heritage Museum in Ballard (3014 NW 67th St.; 206.789.5707; nordicmuseum.org) using fabric backdrops from the museum’s new Marimekko, With Love exhibit. Highlighting the history and evolution of Finnish textile brand turned fashion innovator Marimekko, the museum’s retrospective comprises documentary materials as well as the textiles and designs themselves. The exhibit is on display through July 9.
