Eastlake-based home improvement network Porch.com is constantly coming up with more reasons for us to obsess over cool homes and the people who live in them. Yesterday, the company’s editor in chief Anne Reagan published a new podcast series called Open House, in which they’ll “explore various homes and neighborhoods and give you an insider’s look into how people live within their home.”

In this edition of Open House, Reagan takes a closer look at Seattle’s houseboats and floating homes, discussing the aquatic abodes with people who live, sell or work on them. And it’s fascinating:

We wanted to know what’s it like to live in a home that floats on water? What does it mean to be surrounded by nature while simultaneously living smack dab in the middle of a bustling city? How are these communities and neighborhoods different from the rest of the city and suburbs?
