Where to Shop if Your Style Leans Mod

Alchemy Collections (downtown, 2029 Second Ave.; 206.448.3309) has a diverse mix of mod furnishings, including the indoor/outdoor Alchemia dining chair ($319 and up), which comes in some knockout neon shades.
From David Trubridge’s groovy geometric sphere pendants (starting at $340) to the minimalistic magnetic organizing elements by Seattle’s Three By Three Click! Design That Fits (West Seattle, 4540 California Ave. SW; 206.328.9252) is a veritable hive of mod works. It’s also a lively stop on the West Seattle Art Walk (every second Thursday, 6–9 p.m.).
Modernity mecca Inform Interiors (South Lake Union, 300 Dexter Ave. N; 206.622.1608) benefits from owner Allison Mill’s annual April sojourn to the Milan furniture fair. Current standouts: the Dennis Parren CMYK Up table light ($960), which projects a delicate colored shadow array, the sleek Poul Kjærholm Collection and the sublime Maruni Hiroshima armchair ($1,110 and up).
Jonathan Adler (University Village, 2650 NE University Lane; 206.525.0930) is the source for furnishings—from pottery to pillows—with an upbeat kick. One new dazzler: the shimmering golden Puzzle chandelier ($1,950), also available as a table lamp.
In addition to beguiling seating options, such as the new Torii armchair ($1,670 and up), recalling a cushy zabuton (Japanese floor cushion), Ligne Roset (South Lake Union, 112 Westlake Ave. N; 206.341.9990) welcomes the new Et Cetera open storage system ($2,495 and up) by Pagnon Pelhaître, featuring a spare silhouette and color palette (a double-sided option turns it into a stylish room divider), and the new Sous Mon Arbre lamp ($555), composed of a blossom-like bell-shaped shade attached to a branch-like metal hook, which is striking indoors or out.
After some delays, Roche Bobois is expected to open its new downtown showroom (1922 Fourth Ave.; 206.332.9744) inside the Escala condominium building in June. Meanwhile, keep a sharp eye out for its annual mid-May Temptation Days sale, bound to be a store-clearing affair this year, at its longtime 1015 Western Avenue location. Maybe you’ll even be able to snag a deal on one of Roche Bobois’ newest imports: the Escapade sofa, an oh-so-elegant day bed that comes with cleverly freestanding pillows, and is available in an outdoor version wrapped up in a summery Missoni poppy-patterned fabric.
Contemporary Danish furniture store BoConcept has outposts in both Bellevue (10400 NE Eighth St.; 425.732.3333) and Seattle (901 Western Ave.; 206.464.9999), doubling your shopping pleasure. New in the store: the Madison sofa ($5,800), with electric seat motion so you can recline with a push of a button. Also new: the Fusion line, a collaboration with Japanese design group Nendo.
