There’s nothing quite like a sunny day in Seattle, even when it’s freezing out. I’ve been inspired by the book Do Walk and started a daily morning walk. Today, bundled up against the chill, I watched crows and gulls hopping in the frosty grass, scrounging for breakfast. I guess we’re all just trying to find what we need, whether it’s bugs or a little peace and quiet.

My friend and I are planning to visit this indoor plant and pottery sale. We’ll grab some greenery and find a spot by the koi with coffee in hand.

Renee Bracey Sherman is discussing her new book with local author Angela Garbes at Third Place Books next week — an incredibly important and timely conversation.

16 Seattle restaurants are James Beard semifinalists this year! How many have you checked off the list?

Local rap artist Yonny is one to keep an eye on.

Seattle faith leaders are taking a stand, denouncing a new policy that could lead to migrant raids at churches.

If you’re dreaming of a getaway, start in Edmonds this Saturday.

Don’t you think these little watercolor sketches of Seattle would make great gifts? You can find more here. I want this one.

The Hamilton lottery is here — $10 tickets could be yours. Time to see if you’re feeling lucky.

And, my Hugo House teacher got a great feature in Business Insider.

Plus, the comment of the week comes from @rastaRedhead on our story about Seattle being home to two of the world’s top five brands (Microsoft and Amazon): “What’s Bing?” Truly the question of the week. LOL.
