A group of cool dads is petitioning Amazon to change the name of its Amazon Mom service, which provides discounts on diapers, baby products and food (you know, stuff only us ladies handle) to Amazon Family. The petition has nearly 5,000 signatures and the group hopes to get the online retailer’s attention. Seems like a no brainer. Your move, Amazon.

A more visually appealing alternative to Craigslist? Bellevue-based start up OfferUp could be just that. And a report on Re/Code notes that the company is “in the process of raising $60 million to $100 million in venture capital financing.” Geekwire has more details on the Craigslist competitor here.

The Space Needle plans to hire 200 additional staff members in time for its busy tourist season of May to September, Kiro 7 News reports. What’s more, those new, non-union workers could earn $15.25 per hour, which has left some longtime Space Needle union workers–who earn far less–puzzled. According to Kiro, the new higher-paying positions are “FLEX-Team positions,” wherein workers “will cross-train to assist in more than one area, and the give each guest personal attention.”

Seattle’s downtown Nordstrom flagship store is undergoing a makeover, as we reported here yesterday. What to expect? The retailer plans to open up its street-level windows and let in more natural light, plus will add a Habitant lounge on the third floor (its Bellevue location currently sports this fun option) that will feature windows overlooking the Westlake Monorail station. The remodel is expected to wrap in 2016.

This month marks the anniversary of King County’s promise to end homelessness in 10 years. Listen to KUOW’s extensive coverage of this ongoing problem here.

And when brunches, complete with singing and dancing queens dressed in dazzling drag as you sipped mimosas, weren’t a Sunday staple.  During the 1940s and ‘50s, an era largely shaped by restrictive laws and bias…
