Sync Music Video Festival
Remember MTV? Remember when MTV was good? (It used to play music video after music video.) Well, imagine if there was a night where you could sit in a majestic theater with your friends and watch high-quality music videos from all of the local talent in one of the world’s premier cities for music. Wait, this actually exists? Yes! On April 15 at the SIFF Cinema Uptown in Queen Anne, Artist Home, the organization that brings you the Timber! summer and Timbrrr! winter music festivals, is hosting a night that features a collection of jury-selected music videos released in 2015. If These Lips Could Talk
Presented by Seattle’s Gay City Arts, this charming tale of love and loss weaves music, fantasy and heartbreak together on April 14-17 and 21-24. Some have said the kinky, quirky, touching performance leaves your cheeks aching from all the smiles. Get your tickets to the performance here.
Sherlock Holmes and the American Problem
At the Seattle Repertory Theatre from April 22 through May 22, this world premiere presentation includes fog machines, gunshots and a collision between the American Wild West and Victorian England. What could go wrong in this sordid tale, which takes place in 1887 on the occasion of Queen Victoria’s Jubilee? Well, you’ll have to see for yourself. Tickets available here.
The Seattle Symphony
The Seattle Symphony presents a wide selection of shows this month. On April 14 and 16, it’s Dvořák’s celebrated Cello Concerto. On April 21, 23 and 24, treat yourself to Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet. And on April 28 and 30, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 is slated to grace the Benaroya Hall stage. Those are some big names!
