(9/30 to 10/2, times vary) The Macefield Music Festival, named for Edith Macefield, the elderly Ballard resident who gained national notoriety for refusing to sell her modest home to developers and became an icon of resistance, features a slew of local performers including Mindie Lind, Shelby Earl and Industrial Revelation.

SIFF Spotlights French Films
(9/29 to 10/6, times vary) Every autumn, our city’s numerous and diverse film festivals present hundreds of short features and full-length movies to Seattle audiences, opening up views into a wide, diverse spectrum of human experience. On silver screens around town the Seattle International Film Festival delves into European films with French Cinema Now, featuring romances, comedies, documentaries and more.
