It’s Time for Outdoor Cinema!
(7/9 to 7/21, dusk) Summer in Seattle means outdoor cinema, so pull your picnic blanket up to any of the neighborhood series. Here are a few of our flick picks for the week: Office Space (7/9) at Redhook Brewery’s Moonlight Cinema series in Woodinville and a Christmas-in-July showing of Elf (7/10) at Fremont Outdoor Cinema.

Wicked on Stage at the Paramount
(Through 8/2, times vary) Channel your inner Glinda for the return of Wicked, the Broadway hit musical that fills in the back story of the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good, long before Dorothy and Toto hit the yellow brick road.

Free Outdoor Music Shows
Free outdoor music abounds around the city this month. Choose the music lineup over the lutefisk at Ballard SeafoodFest, especially with local favorites Pickwick, Moondoggies and My Goodness in the mix (7/11–7/12). The Cave Singers and Kithkin hit the stage at West Seattle Summer Fest (7/10–7/12), and The Maldives play at Westlake Park (7/10) during one of many downtown Out to Lunch Concerts.

Woodturning and Textiles on Display at BAM
(Through 10/18, times vary) Bellevue Arts Museum is exhibiting the work of two world-renowned artists in the craft arena. In the Realm of Nature: Bob Stocksdale & Kay Sekimachi showcases organic forms by the late woodturning artist and his wife, a contemporary master of complex weaving.

Chinatown-International District’s Dragonfest + Night Market
(7/11 and 7/12, times vary) Chow down on international eats from some of your fave restaurants in the ID, including Fuji Bakery and Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot, during Dragonfest’s $2 food walk. Then stay for Saturday’s Night Market where you can shop for fresh flowers and handmade goods or cut a rug during the late-night dance party.
