Symphony Performs Live Score to March of the Penguins
Wednesday (7/8, 7:30 p.m.) Flee the heat for cooler climes—at least as depicted in the movies. The Seattle Symphony will perform the original score from the documentary March of the Penguins while those precious flightless birds frolic on screen. Bonus: Leading the musicians is none other than Hollywood music director Jeffrey Schindler, who originally conducted the score for the film.

Celebrate America at Seafair Summer Fourth
Saturday (7/4, Noon to 11 p.m.) Trek to Gas Works Park or South Lake Union Park (3 p.m. to 11 p.m.) and secure a prime fireworks-watching spot for the evening. While you wait, live it up in the parks with a little all-American barbecue and corn on the cob, beer garden and the Ezell’s Famous Chicken food truck (only at Gas Works).
