A Whole Weekend Full of Pride
(6/24 to 6/26, times vary) Kick off the weekend with the Trans Pride celebration on June 24, then live it up during Saturday’s Capitol Hill Pride festivities. On Sunday, make your way downtown where LGBTQ (and straight) revelers will flock to the sidewalks along 4th Avenue for the 42nd annual Seattle Pride Parade, which begins at 11 a.m. and wildly winds its way toward the PrideFest celebrations at the Seattle Center.

The Dog Film Festival Comes to Town
(6/26, 4 p.m.) This canine-centered movie tour stops in Seattle on June 26 at the SIFF Cinema Uptown, inviting dog lovers of all ages to bring their well-behaved pups to enjoy two separate programs of dog-themed short films. What’s more, 50 percent of tickets sales will benefit Seattle Humane, which will have adoptable dogs available at the event.

(6/23, 7:30 p.m.) Novelist and short-story writer Annie Proulx, the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for her novel The Shipping News, a recipient of National Book Award and PEN/Faulkner Award, and the author of Brokeback Mountain, will read from her long-anticipated novel Barkskins.

Snag a Table During Northwest Herring Week
(Through 6/26, times vary) Seafood champions are bringing wild Alaskan herring back into mainstream fish markets and restaurants during this fishy festival.
